Future Work: More accurate decision functions

• Current problems in simple decision making functions:

  • Resource contention due to "stale" resource data is a serious issue.
    • All machines in the cluster see the same picture and thus choose the same server. This overloads that server until the picture changes.
  • Approximated data
    • The "system load" is used as an available resource. This data, being a one minute average, is not a good representation of the resource situation at the moment of decision making.
